On parts quoting, the employee reads the request, checks stock or the usual sources, and drafts the reply. A person still sends it. Being late is what removes you from the running. We do not claim the first quote always wins.
The hours go on reading the request, checking what you have, and typing the same shape of reply. That is the seat.
Overnight requests stay in the queue. In the morning the draft exists. The conversation may still be open.
What we will not say
We will not invent a win-rate or a minutes-to-quote trophy. Those numbers belong to your desk after the employee is live.
The useful fact is simpler. A quote that arrives after the buyer has moved on is not competing on price. It is not competing.
